Christian Bime, MD
Dr. Christian Bime is a physician-scientist with clinical training as a pulmonary and critical care specialist. His translational research is focused deciphering the genetic and non-genetic factors that underlie the well-recognized health disparities that exist in the critically ill, specifically, in conducting translational Acute Respiratory Distress Syndrome (ARDS) research to identify biomarkers that would help stratify patients while investigating novel therapies.

Each Mentor in this group has strong interests in the structure, function and regulation of proteins involved in cardiac contraction. Levels of focus span from atomic modeling to transcriptional regulation to intact heart function. These investigators have extensive interactions - they meet informally on a daily basis and formally in weekly group meetings and journal clubs; they jointly mentor students and have multiple co-authored papers and grants.
